Dr. Keith D. Cummings, a graduate of the University of Guyana’s School of Medicine, was recently the recipient of a certificate of special congressional recognition.

Dr. Cummings, who migrated to the United States several years ago, was bestowed with the auspicious credential for excellence in Health Care in the Brooklyn Hospital Center and recognition of outstanding and invaluable service to the East New York Community. Instrumental in making this development possible was Congressman Hakeem Jeffries.

Jeffries is an American lawyer and democratic member of the US House of Representatives, representing New York’s 8th congressional district in Brooklyn and Queens.

The Congressman, among with others, has recognised Dr. Cummings for providing high quality health care to the patients and the community he serves. Cummings has also been singled out for providing free health coaching for chronic diseases to the underserved in the East New York Community.

Although he has been living abroad for many years, Dr. Cummings has remained a strong supporter of the University of Guyana School of Medicine and Library, through generous book and journal donations over the past three years. Further, he has been a regular provider of Continuous Medical Education (CME) to many doctors in Linden, Georgetown and Berbice over the years.
