UG student arrested for making bomb threats

The Guyana Police Force on Thursday afternoon arrested the daughter of People’s Progressive Party, Region Five Campaign Manager, Faizal Jaffarally, following two bomb threats she made to the University of Guyana, Turkeyen Campus.

According to information reaching the Guyana Standard, the female who has been identified as Dianne Jaffarally was arrested at her place of employment and escorted to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) for questioning.

When contacted, Crime Chief, Lyndon Alves could only confirm that indeed a female was arrested in connection with the two bomb threats to the University and that she was still in custody.

However, Attorney-at-Law Latchmie Rahamat who is representing Jaffarally said that her client was arrested yesterday in connection with allegations of making bomb threats against the University of Guyana.

The attorney related that her client has since denied the allegations and that she is in the process of securing bail for Jaffarally while investigators are awaiting legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
