A 45-year-old, Foulis, East Coast Demerara resident was found dead in his 627 Sixteenth Street home yesterday. He has been identified as Kissoon Latchman. Police say that enquires have disclosed that the man was a “known” alcoholic who lived alone.

Guyana Standard understands that Latchman left his daughter’s home on June 9 under the influence of alcohol. He was last seen alive at 20:30hrs lying in a hammock at his residence.

Yesterday, his friend, who usually checks on him daily, observed the door on Latchman’s home ajar.

He allegedly entered the house through the said door, when he discovered his friend lying on a chair with blood about his bed and several areas in the house. Blood was also found in the hammock and on the ground.

He immediately raised an alarm. The police were summoned to the scene and the body was examined and what appears to be a wound was seen to his head.

The body was escorted to Enmore Poly Clinic, where Latchman was pronounced dead. The body is currently at Lyken Funeral Parlour awaiting a post-mortem examination.
