Five months has passed since a young man was shot and killed and his friend seriously wounded after a man is said to have opened fired on them for allegedly laughing at him.
Kacey Da Silva, 34, a father of one, was shot dead while his friend, Seon Bobb, 24 received multiple gunshot wounds about his body on December 20, 2018 at Agricola, East Bank Demerara.
Da Silvaโs family, in an interview with Guyana Standard, stated that they are seeking justice for their loved one and they will keep on pressing the issue.
An uncle of Da Silva, who wished not to be named, said that the suspects in relation to his nephewโs killing go by the call names โPumpkinโ and โHome Aloneโ, both of Agricola. He said that Home Alone is the nephew of โPumpkinโ.
The uncle is adamant that โHome Aloneโ is the one who shot and killed his nephew, supposedly after the dead man was laughing at โHome Aloneโ after the latter had just gotten beaten by another man.
โMy nephew was a very nice person who didnโt go around troubling anyone. He did not deserve to die like that. He has a young child.โ
The relative said that since the killing, he has received one phone call from the police in relation to them issuing wanted bulletins for the suspects. But, the police havenโt done so to date.
The distraught man said that he has a picture of the one of the suspects (Home Alone) and will be visiting the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Headquarters, Eve Leary, Georgetown to hand it in.
This, he hopes, will help them to find the suspects and bring them before the courts.
According to information, one of the suspects was involved in a fight with a man at Second Street, Agricola, on the day in question, after which both Da Silva and Bobb started to laugh.
The laughter however infuriated โHome Aloneโ and he was handed a handgun by โPumpkinโ. After receiving the gun, the man allegedly opened fire at Da Silva and Bobb.
The men fell to the ground and were rushed to the Diamond Diagnostic Centre where Da Silva was pronounced dead on arrival, while Bobb, who received gunshot wounds to the upper right side of his body and leg, was treated by doctors and transferred to the GPHC.
It was reported that after the shooting, the suspects fled on feet. Shortly after the shooting, police issued a statement saying that the suspects โHome Aloneโ and โGudgieโ were wanted in relation to the murder of Da Silva and attempted murder of Bobb.
