Rawle Farrell, 32, of Lot 699, 6th Street Dazzle Housing Scheme, East Coast Demerara, today appeared before Magistrate Fabayo Azore at the Cove and John Magistrate’s Court.

It is alleged that on March 29, at Dazzle Housing Scheme, he had in his possession 1.5 kilograms (3.3lbs) of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking.

He was remanded after Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU) Prosecutor, Konyo Sandiford objected to bail and stated that the man may be a flight risk.

He will make his next court appearance on April 29.

The Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU)’s Farrell turned himself in on Easter Monday after CANU published a wanted bulletin.

Farrell had escaped on March 29, 2021, when police confronted him at his Dazzle Housing Scheme home. It was reported that he evaded officers for one week before finally surrendering and was accompanied by his attorney, Eusi Anthony.
