A youth was this morning remanded to prison after a City Magistrate heard that he allegedly robbed a woman of her chain, valued at $70,000 while she was boarding a bus.

The young man, Chris Pollard, was remanded by Senior Magistrate Leron Daly who presides in Court Two at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.

It is alleged that on July 22, 2021, at the Route 47 bus park, he stole a gold chain valued at $70,000, from Tenecia Dick.

The youth, who is no stranger to the court pleaded not guilty to the charge but he was denied bail and told that the matter would continue on August 30.

According to the Court Prosecutor, on the day in question, Dick was boarding the bus when Pollard allegedly snatched the chain. Dick gave chase and the suspect was apprehended.

Pollard has been arrested and charged for several similar matters and was sentenced in 2019 after being found guilty of theft.
