A 59-year-old man is now in police custody after he was found with a 9mm Reck 92 military pistol and one empty magazine yesterday at Matthew Allen Road, New Amsterdam.
Acting on information received, a party of policemen went to the said location where the suspect was met and searched. The gun was found in a purple bag he was carrying. He was told of the offence committed, arrested, and taken to Central Police Station where he was placed into custody.
The firearm was lodged and the suspect is expected to be charged soon.
