Keystone Consulting (Guyana) Inc., a newly established research, marketing, and business intelligence firm, was officially launched at the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) in Houston, Texas, one of the energy industry’s largest and most influential global events.
Headquartered in Georgetown, Guyana, Keystone aims to provide high-quality, locally grounded intelligence to support business, investment, and policy decisions primarily across Guyana, Suriname and the region.
According to company officials, Keystone brings together a multidisciplinary team with decades of experience in public policy, legal strategy, economic development, energy, and strategic communications.
The firm will publish reports grounded in real-time, local data to inform investment, policy, and business decisions. Its intelligence will serve governments, companies, and development partners navigating the region’s growing economic opportunities.
“This company has been formed in collaboration with persons who have worked from the beginning …since the first discovery… in the petroleum sector,” said Joanna Simmons, Attorney-at-Law and Legal Analyst, speaking at the launch.
She outlined that Keystone is built on years of local expertise and contributions to shaping Guyana’s investment and licensing frameworks.
Joining Simmons on the core team are OilNOW Content Manager and CEO of Sagacity, Chris Chapwanya; economists Dr. Natasha Gaskin-Peters and Richard Rambarran; and former Alberta Premier Alison Redford. Each member has contributed to Guyana’s evolving oil and gas landscape.
Simmons said the company will highlight “the Guyanese value, the Guyanese understanding, the Guyanese perspective” to international investors and stakeholders. She highlighted the firm’s commitment to delivering insights rooted in lived experience rather than distant observation.
Moreover, Chapwanya echoed similar sentiment, noting that Keystone will offer quality research and analysis on par with intelligence companies operating out of Norway, the UK, and the United States. He noted that the company will also focus on Suriname’s fast-developing deepwater operations and aims to support market decisions across the Caribbean and northern South America.
For his part, Rambarran said Keystone was born from a critical need for credible, on-the-ground economic analysis in Guyana. He stated, “There’s a lot of casual observation being made… deep analytical pieces being drawn from very glossed approaches…This is market intelligence and local content combined in its truest form and its truest sense.”
“As our country experiences rapid economic transformation, our reports will serve as a trusted resource; offering clear, credible, and in-depth analysis that empower businesses, investors, and policymakers to navigate complexity, seize opportunities, and promote sustainable growth in our country,” Dr. Natasha Gaskin-Peters, Co-Founder, Fiscal Frontier Inc. stated.
Moreover, President of ExxonMobil Guyana, Alistair Routledge, also delivered remarks at the launch. He said, “Keystone is a wonderful example of blending international and local expertise. Their services should help to enrich the understanding of the progress that’s happening in Guyana and in the broader region.”
