Police are probing the circumstances surrounding the death of 58-year-old Joseph Sahadeo of Lot 167 Grant Ville Park, Beterverwagting, East Coast Demerara, who died at Splashmin’s Fun Park and Village around 13:00 hrs last Sunday.

Reports indicate that Sahadeo visited the park with his wife, Goumattie Singh, his daughter, Padmini Sahadeo, and other relatives. The group had taken two jet skis with them.

Guyana Standard understands that Sahadeo was riding one of the jet skis, while his daughter and her friend were on the other. It is alleged that he later collided with the jet ski carrying Padmini, resulting in a blow to his head.

He fell into the water and was quickly rescued by family members and friends. Sahadeo was rushed to the Diamond Diagnostic Centre, where he was examined by a doctor and pronounced dead. Visible injuries were observed on his head and face.

The body was taken to Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, where it awaits a post-mortem examination. Investigations are ongoing.
