Leader of the Alliance For Change (AFC), Nigel Hughes recently welcomed US-sanctioned businessman, Azruddin Mohamed into the presidential race. At his most recent press conference, Hughes said the more options citizens have the better.
“I think for a long time we have had limited choices up to 2006 and Mr Mohamed clearly has had an impact on the electorate and we welcome him…”
Hughes also expressed no fear about Mohamed’s impact on his party’s support base. If anything, Hughes said it will force the AFC to up its game.
“I dont think it is ever over until that proverbial fat lady sings and during the next three months, we are going to see who has the best polices, and who are the persons who treat and engage with the electorate on the future of this country,” the party leader said.
Hughes also expressed hope that this electoral cycle will allow for the highest standard of engagement and the electorates would view their candidates in a favourable light.
