Police have arrested three suspects as investigations continue into the alleged double murder of Mark Thomas, 24, and 24-year-old Wendy James, both residents of Barama River, Baramita, North West District in Region One.
The suspects involved in this case are identified as Kizzian Baird, Junior Richmond, known as ‘Po-Pal’, and Ewart Wilson. The incident occurred on June 16, 16, 2025, at New Star Backdam, NWD.
Between 16th and 19th June 2025, the police team from Regional Police Division 1 executed a thorough search of the New Star Backdam area following the suspects’ flight from their residences after committing the act.
All three suspects were successfully apprehended in various hiding spots within the Backdam region. They have undergone video and audio interviews, and witnesses have provided written statements confirming the suspects’ involvement in the acts.
The suspects are currently in custody. A Post-Mortem Examination of the deceased Mark Thomas and Wendy James will be conducted on Monday, 23rd June, at Port Kaituma.
Further details surrounding the murders have not been released by the police.
