While giving no word on what role Linden Parliamentarian, Jermaine Figueira would play in an APNU government, Opposition leader, Aubrey Norton gave all assurances today that there will always be a place for the young politician in his party. Norton said he is also open to Figueira being on the party’s list of candidates, adding that it is now up to Figueira to provide him with a formal confirmation via signature.

During a press engagement, Norton noted that there will be a mix of young, vibrant faces on the campaign trail alongside several faithful party members the public has come to know.

Norton said with absolute certainty that Attorney-at-Law and Parliamentarian, Roysdale Forde will form part of an APNU government. In terms of newcomers, he cited Ronald Daniels, a young lawyer who is expected to be one of the rising stars of the party. The opposition leader said there are over 100 persons whose names will be released soon.

Regarding the incorporation of political stalwarts such as former Vice President, Carl Greenidge, Norton said his understanding is that Greenidge prefers to remain out of the political race. “The last time I engaged Carl, he did indicate he wanted to stay and do what he was doing and this is since I became leader of the opposition,” said Norton.

The opposition leader expressed confidence that the electorate, and more so its support base, will be pleased with the list of candidates when they are announced.
