Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of Ron Clarke, a 30-year-old taxi driver of William Street, Kitty, and Lot 76 Wisroc Housing Scheme, which occurred at about 19:15 hrs last evening (17th July 2025) at Victory Valley, Wismar Linden.
According to a 19-year-old Construction Worker, at about 19:15 hrs yesterday, he was walking along a street in Victory Valley when he saw Clarke lying in a drain, motionless.
The teen said he raised an alarm, and Clarke was subsequently removed from the drain, placed in a passing car and taken to the Linden Hospital Complex, where he was pronounced dead on arrival by Dr. Ross. The body was examined, and gunshot injuries were seen about his body: five to the right arm, two to the groin, one to the right-side hip and six on his right thigh.
Additionally, one warhead was found in Clarke’s underwear.
At the scene, it was observed that the street where the incident allegedly occurred runs east to west, with small snack bars/shops on the northern and southern sides. These shops were closed at the time.
The scene was video processed by the crime scene ranks. One pair of black and white Adidas slippers was seen on the southern side of the street with blood stains on the right side, along with ten 9mm spent shells. The spent shells and blood-stained slipper were collected, placed in an evidence bag, sealed and lodged to be escorted to the lab for examination.
The body was escorted to Jetsco Funeral Home, awaiting a Post-mortem examination (PME).
Several persons were questioned in the area as investigations continue.
