Police are investigating an alleged robbery under arms that occurred at about 21:30hrs last night at Parfaite Harmonie, West Bank Demerara.
The victims have been identified as Rayleen Patterson, a 26-year-old teacher from Parfaite Harmonie and her aunt, Alicia Brown of Sophia.
The women were reportedly in Patterson’s yard when two male suspects on a motorcycle approached them. One of the suspects was reportedly wearing a black face mask, black jeans, a black T-shirt, and black Polo slippers with white logos. He was also armed with a handgun. According to the description provided, the second suspect was dressed in black-and-white boots, grey pants, a black face mask, and a white shirt.
The suspects allegedly held the victims at gunpoint before relieving them of the following items: one gold chain valued at approximately $350,000, property of Patterson; and $50,000 in cash and one pair of gold earrings valued at $25,000, property of Brown.
The suspects reportedly fled the scene on the motorcycle, heading west.
A search is ongoing for the suspects, and no arrests have been made as yet. Investigations continue.
