The International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) has issued a Red Notice for a Brazilian national, Fernando Teles Pereira, after an application was made by the Guyana Police Force.

Pereira is wanted in Guyana for the murder of 21-year-old Miguelys Centeno Gerdez, a Venezuelan National who resided at Timehri, East Bank Demerara.

On February 5, 2025, Pereira who was employed with W. Golding, Logistic and Aggregate Company, picked up the 21-year-old woman at the Diamond Junction, East Bank Demerara in Motor Lorry GAJ 8825. The woman’s body was found on March 4, 2025, at 9 Miles Road. An autopsy revealed that she died as a result of trauma to the head.

The suspect, Fernando Teles Pereira, subsequently fled the jurisdiction back to Brazil.

The Red Notice issued by INTERPOL on behalf of the Guyana Police Force is a request to law enforcement worldwide to locate and provisionally arrest the named person pending legal action.

The Red Notice is applicable to all law enforcement agencies of the 196 member countries under the umbrella of INTERPOL.
