The People’s Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/C) has outlined a comprehensive youth development strategy in its 2025 manifesto which aims to increase opportunities for engagement in national development as well as personal advancement.

Central to this vision is the continuation of free education at all levels, alongside expanded vocational and entrepreneurial training programmes. The party also highlighted the relaunch of the Youth Entrepreneurial Skills Training (YEST) initiative and the President’s Youth Award Republic of Guyana (PYARG) scheme, as well as the establishment of a Youth Advisory Council to ensure that young people have a direct voice in national decision-making.

According to the PPP/C, the next five years will see greater opportunities created for youth participation in government, the private sector, and every facet of national life. The manifesto also pledges full access to education and skills training in all regions, ensuring that opportunities for learning and development are not limited to Georgetown or coastal communities.

The party underscored its support for youth entrepreneurship and innovation, with plans to create a more enabling environment for young leaders and innovators.

Another key plank of the party’s strategy is improving access to affordable housing for young Guyanese, which it describes as essential to ensuring stability and upward mobility.
