The We Invest in Nationhood (WIN) Party has dismissed what it describes as “lies” being circulated by both the opposition A Partnership for National Unity (APNU) and the governing People’s Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/C) regarding alleged post-election partnerships.
WIN’s presidential candidate, Azruddin Mohamed, addressed the issue via a video statement on his Facebook page this morning.
Mohamed emphasized that during his campaign throughout Guyana, WIN supporters have been clear about their expectations.
“Thousands of supporters have told me ‘Mister Mohamed do not coalesce with these parties or we will not support you’. I made a commitment to voters and I will not disappoint them. These baseless rumours are a reaction to internal polls showing WIN leading the race on Monday,” he said.
The businessman-turn-politician added, “We will not allow parties from the past to distract Guyanese from the real issues shaping our future”.
He further stressed that WIN has not engaged in any form of political arrangements.
“WIN categorically denies any claims of secret deals or arrangements with any political party. By law it too late for any partnership to form. WIN is a registered independent party accountable only to the people of Guyana. Our coalition is not with any political party – it is with all Guyanese, united for progress and prosperity. We remain committed to transparency, facts, and solutions that serve everyone,” Mohamed stated.
With just days before the election, the WIN Party leader said the party is focused on the country’s priorities, while accusing the two larger political forces of ganging up against a rising movement.
“In this final week of the campaign, our focus is on the real issues that matter to Guyana’s future. It is remarkable that both APNU and PPP are waging a joint campaign against a party less than 90 days old.”
