The Guyana Police Force is investigating the suspected murder of a man, whose name, address, and occupation are yet to be ascertained. The incident occurred on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at about 03:45 hrs on Middle Road, La Penitence, Georgetown.
Detectives responded and arrived at the scene at approximately 04:00hrs. Upon arrival, the victim was found lying on his left side in a crouched position in a pool of blood. He was clad in a blue long pants, blue and white striped jersey, red boxer shorts, and a pair of black Nike slippers.
Emergency Medical Technicians were summoned and subsequently pronounced the victim dead. Preliminary examination revealed what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the forehead with an exit wound at the back of the head.
The scene was processed by ranks from the Crime Scene Unit, during which one (1) spent shell was recovered, marked, sealed, and lodged as evidence. The body was escorted to the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, where it awaits identification and a post-mortem examination.
CCTV cameras were observed in the area and will be reviewed as part of the ongoing investigation.
The Guyana Police Force is appealing to anyone with information that may assist in identifying the deceased to contact the nearest Police Station or call 911.
