The issuance of Certificates of Title—an essential component of the homeownership process—continued on the Essequibo Coast as 85 families from Phase Four of the Onderneeming Housing Development received their Certificates of Title.

Certificates of Title are vital legal documents that establish bona fide ownership of land. They are also commonly used as collateral at financial institutions, enabling beneficiaries to secure residential mortgages for home construction. The issuance of these documents plays a critical role in increasing occupancy and accelerating development within new housing schemes.

In addition to the distribution of Certificates of Title, the allocation of residential house lots was also conducted for beneficiaries in both Onderneeming and Hoff Van Aurich.

Minister of Housing, the Honourable Collin Croal, along with Minister within the Ministry, the Honourable Vanessa Benn, were present and participated in the exercise, engaging with beneficiaries and underscoring the Government’s commitment to expanding access to homeownership.

These activities form part of the Ministry’s ongoing housing outreach programme currently being held at the Region Two Regional Housing Office in Anna Regina. The outreach aims to bring essential housing services directly to residents, streamline processes, and support families as they take meaningful steps toward owning their homes.
