The Guyana Police Force (GPF) is investigating reports circulating on social media involving Jamal Bourne, also known as “Skinny,” who is wanted in connection with the murder of Akeem Hamer at Pouderoyen, West Bank Demerara, on September 12, 2024.
Force said it is aware of a video that circulated on social media showing Bourne allegedly inflicting a suspected gunshot wound to himself during a Facebook Live broadcast on Sunday, January 18, 2026. During the broadcast, Bourne was also seen in the company of other individuals and was allegedly displaying a cache of suspected firearms. The video has since been removed from the platform on which it was originally posted.
Police say there is currently no official confirmation of Bourne’s death, and no reports related to the incident have been received from any of Guyana’s 12 policing regions.
The GPF stated that it is treating the matter seriously and is conducting all necessary enquiries to verify the authenticity, location, and circumstances surrounding the video.
Investigations are ongoing.
