Police in Regional Division 3 are investigating an alleged murder committed on Fendel Trotman, called “Johnny” or “Rasta Man,” a 30-year-old labourer of Anna Catherina, West Coast Demerara.
He was killed on Friday February 13, 2026 about 10:00hrs at Meten-Meer-Zorg, West Coast Demerara.
Enquiries disclosed that the now-deceased was working as a mason at a two-storey concrete structure along the Meten-Meer-Zorg Public Road when an altercation reportedly occurred between him and another male. The confrontation allegedly escalated into a scuffle during which the suspect, who was armed with a knife, inflicted a stab wound to the man’s chest before fleeing the scene on foot.
The injured man was assisted and escorted to the De Kinderen Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival by a doctor on duty.
A knife sheath was found in the building. CCTV cameras in the vicinity was identified and will be reviewed as part of the investigation.
The body was subsequently escorted to the Ezekiel Funeral Parlour, where it awaits a post-mortem examination.
No arrests have been made.
Investigations are ongoing.
