On Tuesday, Agriculture Minister, Zulfikar Mustapha, met with a team of Brazilian investors who are currently in Guyana as part of a visit facilitated by the country’s first private equity fund, Rise Guyana Inc. The engagement provided an opportunity for discussions on potential areas of collaboration between the investors and the Government of Guyana, with a focus on advancing the development of the agriculture sector through targeted investments in priority areas.
During the meeting, Minister Mustapha highlighted several opportunities for partnership aimed at strengthening agricultural production, value-added processing, and expanding Guyana’s role in regional food security. Also participating in the discussions were Minister of Public Works, Bishop Juan Edghill, Minister within the Office of the President with responsibility for Finance, Dr. Ashni Singh, Minister of Natural Resources, Vickram Bharrat, and Minister of Public Service and Government Efficiency and Implementation, Zulfikar Ally.
