Guyana’s Office of the President has issued a call for expressions of interest from contractors to construct housing units for vulnerable individuals and families across the country under President Irfaan Ali’s ‘Men on Mission’ initiative.

The request invites qualified contractors to submit proposals for the construction of small wooden homes in all 10 administrative regions of Guyana.

According to the notice, the government is seeking builders to construct 600-square-foot houses designed to support vulnerable groups, including single parents, pensioners, persons living with disabilities, and individuals affected by disasters such as fires, floods, or storms.

Each unit will include two bedrooms, a kitchen, living space and a communal washroom.

The project forms part of the housing support component of the Men on Mission programme, which provides assistance through the construction of new homes, the rehabilitation and repair of existing structures, and the distribution of building materials to those in need.

The Office of the President said the initiative aims to deliver housing support to vulnerable citizens across Guyana’s administrative regions.

The Men on Mission programme was launched by President Ali as a One Guyana initiative intended to promote positive values and responsibility among men, while encouraging them to play a greater role in supporting communities and vulnerable populations.

The government has positioned the initiative as part of broader efforts to address social challenges affecting men, while mobilising support for community development.

Expressions of interest for the housing project must be submitted to the Office of the President on or before Friday, March 20, 2026, according to the notice.
