Today, Minister of Housing Collin Croal, and Minister within the Ministry Vanessa Benn, met with a team of officials from the National Industrial and Commercial Investments Limited (NICIL), led by Chairman, Mr. Radha Krishna Sharma.
The meeting, held in the boardroom of the Ministry’s main office, is part of ongoing inter-agency engagements on the acquisition of state lands currently under NICIL’s purview and the establishment of land ownership for several areas, as the Government expands the national housing programme. Discussions also addressed lands for the regularization of informal settlements that may also fall under NICIL’s management.
Also in attendance were the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Mr. Bishram Kuppen; Chief Executive Officer of the Central Housing and Planning Authority (CH&PA), Dr. Martin Pertab; Chief Development Planner, Ms. Germene Stewart; and Head of the Corporate Legal Secretariat, Ms. Haniffah Jordan.
