Two serving members of the Guyana Police Force ( GPF) who are accused of defrauding the Force of over $11 M in one day, were today charged for the offence.
Thirty-five-year-old, Jermaine Fraser and 29-year-old Michael Corbin who are both attached to the Finance Office of the GPF, appeared before Principal Magistrate Faith McGusty in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.

The men were not required to plead to the 21 charges which stated that on April 4,2019, at Eve Leary, Georgetown, they, while being employed at the GPF Finance Office, willfully and with intent to defraud, made false entry into the accounts of their employer, that is to say, they falsely entered the sum of $11,385,000 into the integration and finance management system without the existence of payment vouchers.

Both men were represented by attorney-at-law Latchmi Rahamat who asked that her clients be released on reasonable bail.
The Magistrate released the men on $250,000 bail each. They were instructed to make their next court appearance on March 25.
