Minister of Agriculture, Zulfikar Mustapha, along with senior officials from the Guyana Rice Development Board (GRDB), will this week meet with rice farmers and millers across the country’s rice-growing regions.
The Ministry of Agriculture said the consultations coincide with the commencement of the second crop and are aimed at fostering open dialogue with stakeholders in the industry.
“These engagements are part of the Ministry’s continued efforts to promote open dialogue and collaboration with stakeholders in the rice industry. The meetings will focus on matters related to the current crop,” the ministry said.
It added that the government remains committed to working closely with farmers and millers to ensure a successful and productive crop while advancing Guyana’s broader food security agenda.
