ExxonMobil Guyana President Alistair Routledge said Guyana’s oil production rate is now around 770,000 barrels per day (bpd) in early October, up from an average of 740,000 bpd in September.

He gave the update during a press conference Monday morning at the company’s new Ogle headquarters.

Production in August was 685,000 bpd according to a production report from the Ministry of Natural Resources.

Oil output offshore Guyana is on an upward trek at ExxonMobil’s Stabroek Block, as the new Yellowtail project ramps up to its design production capacity of 250,000 bpd.

Other projects, namely Liza Phases 1 and 2, and Payara, are all producing above their design rates, due to optimization measures Exxon has undertaken over the years.
Exxon is operating in partnership with Hess, which has been acquired by Chevron, and CNOOC.
