A 65-year-old pensioner who allegedly went to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) and distributed obscene photographs of his reputed wife to her colleagues was this morning charged for the crime.

Godfrey Taylor, who is a martial arts instructor, pleaded not guilty to the charge which stated that on December 15, 2018, at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC), he knowingly and without lawful excuse distributed obscene photographs of Shetra Sheernarine, his reputed wife.

He appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan in the Georgetown Magistrates Courts.

Facts presented by Police Prosecutor, Gordon Mansfield stated that Taylor and Sheernarine shared an intimate relationship, but were not on speaking terms.

On December 15, 2018, Taylor went to the woman’s workplace at GPHC and distributed obscene photos of her to her colleagues. The matter was then reported, an investigation was carried out, and he was arrested and charged for the offence.

The Prosecutor had no objection to bail being granted to the defendant, hence the Magistrate released Taylor on $10,000 bail.

He was instructed to make his next court appearance on March 20, 2019.
