Great Britain has terminated the services of one of its advisors to the Special Organized Crime Unit (SOCU), Dr. Sam Sittlington after it was found that he is pursuing private business interests here.

The termination of his contract was confirmed with British High Commissioner to Guyana, Greg Quinn. In a brief statement to the media, the envoy said, “In light of information about Dr Sam Sittlington’s private business interests, his contract in Guyana has been terminated with immediate effect.”

The Guyana Standard understands that Dr. Sittlington has registered a local branch of his UK based business which seeks to fight money laundering and fraud cases.
