Days after a file on the threats made to “shoot up” at School of the Nations was sent to the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP), Shalimar Ali Hack for advice, it has been returned with recommendations made for further investigation to be conducted.

The Guyana Standard has been informed that investigators were able to trace the threats to the son of a senior member of the judicial system. That individual is a teenager who resides in Florida.

According to information received, the teen issued the threats on social media because he was angry with the management of the school for expelling one of his friends. The fake account had been traced to the teenager.

A police source said that the DPP has asked for additional information and when this is done, the file will then be returned.

Days after the threat was made, the School’s Director, Dr. Brian O’Toole, was shot twice to the arm on the night of January 27, last, at his Bel Air Promenade, Georgetown home. Investigators do not believe the shooting is linked to the Facebook threat.

No one has been held for the shooting. Investigation is still ongoing.
