Four men were arrested by the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) last night for trying to smuggle suspected cocaine in a fire extinguisher.

The discovery was made at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA). The four men in custody are Dinesh Dias, Anthony Collins, Seenarine Mathura and Mohamed Inshan.

They were arrested at a house in Timehri during a police raid.

The agency in a statement said that the raid unearthed suspected cocaine concealed in a fire extinguisher which is believed to be destined for placement on an aircraft for an international destination.

The suspected cocaine weighed 1.890 kilograms.
