Police ranks probing the execution-style killing of Colin Hooper known as “Gun Youth” which occurred last night in East Ruimveldt, Georgetown, have received information that the murder is linked to the death of America Street money changer, Prince Philip Alleyne.

Alleyne was gunned down in April, last, outside of Ashmin’s Store on High Street by two men dressed in Muslim garments during what police say was a robbery.

The Guyana Standard has been informed that police investigators have received information that Hooper was one of the two suspects who shot Alleyne during the robbery.  There are reports that last night’s execution was in retaliation to Alleyne’s death.

At around 20:45 hrs last night, Cooper was shot dead in East Ruimveldt. Like Alleyne, he was shot in the head. Investigators found six spent shells of a small caliber weapon close to his body.

The Guyana Standard has been informed that the killer arrived at the spot and waited on Hooper to arrive. It is unclear if the shooter escaped on a motorcycle or vehicle.

Hooper had several robbery charges pending before the courts. He was also wanted by the police for questioning in relation to the murder of Prince Alleyne on High Street, Georgetown on April 16, 2019.
