A 10-year-old student from Regma Primary School in Linden died earlier today at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC), days after she reportedly fell while playing.

The deceased has been identified as June Alexander of Mc Kenzie, Linden.

According to information received, the child was running in the school compound when she suddenly collapsed. She was immediately rushed to the Linden Hospital before being transferred to GPHC.

The child’s relatives have claimed that she was pushed down at the school and accused the teachers of trying to cover up the incident.

However, a neurologist at the GPHC revealed that little Alexander had been suffering from a brain condition which caused her to collapse.

A postmortem examination will reveal more information surrounding her death. Additionally, Divisional Commander Linden Lord said that investigators collected a number of statements, all of which stated that the child collapsed while playing at the school.

Her relatives, however, have refused to accept the findings from the police probe.
