Two Superintendent of Police were promoted to Senior Superintendent, topping the 2020 promotions list of the Guyana Police Force.
They are Mahendra Siwnarine and Julius Wright. No one made the cut for Assistant Police Commissioner.
This year, the police promoted 298 officers to the rank of Senior Superintendent of Police; Superintendent; Deputy Superintendent; Assistant Superintendent; Chief Inspector; Inspector; Sergeant; Corporal and Lance Corporal.
Commissioner of Police, Leslie James, said the promotion is a reward for hard work, invaluable dedication, conscientiousness and self attitude.
“It is the demonstration of the understanding of your roles, purposes and responsibilities. It is and must be seen as a reward for the unconditional serving and maintenance of zealously guarding our ideals,” James said.
He encouraged ranks to never retreat from challenging themselves and advised that they work hard to win the respect and trust of citizen.
