Owing to his failure to attend a court hearing, High Court Judge Franklin Holder on February 14, 2020 issued a warrant for the arrest of Police Inspector Ganeshan John.

Inspector John who is reportedly stationed along the East Coast of Demerara is currently involved in a court battle with Kissoondatt Premsukh of K.P Construction Company of 183 West Lusignan, East Coast Demerara.

The crux of the matter is that Police Inspector John was ordered late last year by High Court Judge , Diana Insanally to pay $1,296,180 to Premsukh as well as $100,000 in court costs.

The sum represents a judgement  against Inspector John for monies he owed the construction company for works carried out at his home located at Lot 117 Samatta Point, Golden Grove, East Bank Demerara.

Due to his failure to honour the judgement of Justice Insanally, Premsukh through his lawyer, Eusi Anderson, instituted Judgement Proof proceedings against Inspector John.

Those proceedings are currently ongoing before Justice Holder. Consequent to those proceedings, Inspector John was notified that he has to attend court; he never did.

In the arrest warrant signed by Justice Holder, Inspector John is listed as a Judgement Debtor, a person against whom a judgement ordering him to pay a sum of money has been obtained and remains unsatisfied.

The arrest warrant which is addressed to all police officers and the keeper of the Georgetown Prison clearly states that Inspector John is to be arrested immediately and brought before the Judge.

A few years back, Inspector John and Premsukh entered into agreement whereby the construction company will build his home to the tune of $7, 537, 360 through a loan obtained from the New Building Society.

Sometime in 2017, Inspector John requested of Premsukh to carry out additional works on his home which entailed building a master bedroom at the cost of $ $321, 630, a chain link fence at the cost of $545, 900 and a trestle to hold water tanks to the tune of $428, 650, all totaling $1,296,180.

According to court documents seen by this publication, Inspector John showed no intentions of paying the additional monies to Premsukh who later filed a lawsuit against him.

In court filings, Premsukh said that she has taken this course because should he dismantle the structure it would result in economic lost.

More than a week after the warrant was issued, Inspector John is yet to be arrested and taken before the Judge.
