Chancellor of the Judiciary, Madam Yonette Cummings-Edwards, moments ago announced that Magistrates’ Courts across the country will only be sitting two days per week effective from Monday, April, 6, 2020.

This new measure which will be in operation until Friday, April 24, 2020, has been implemented so as to safeguard against the deadly novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Persons who may have queries about cases are being asked to call the telephone numbers for the courts in their district. As of today, Guyana has confirmed 23 cases of the disease, which has resulted in four deaths.
