Ballots in 76 boxes were counted today as Day 31 of the recount of votes cast in the March elections came to an end this evening at the Arthur Chung Convention Centre (ACCC).

These boxes contained ballots that were cast in Region Four (Demerara/Mahaica).
The count of Regions Six (East Berbice/Corentyne) and 10 (Upper Demerara/Berbice) concluded yesterday. The other electoral districts that have been completed are: Regions One (Barima/Waini); Two (Pomeroon/Supenaam); Three (Essequibo Islands/West Demerara): Five (Mahaica/Berbice); Seven (Cuyuni/Mazaruni); Eight (Potaro/Siparuni); and Nine (Upper Takutu/Upper Essequibo).

Today’s exercise brings the overall total of boxes completed to date, to 2,127 or 92.8% of the 2,339 boxes that contained ballots cast in these elections.

GECOM now has to count 167 boxes to conclude the counting and tabulation phase of the process.

With regards to tabulation, 2,153 SORs were tabulated for General, and 2,133 for the Regional Elections.
