Two farmers were this morning arrested after ranks of the Guyana Police Force (GPF) conducted an intelligence-led operation at Moco Moco, Central Rupununi.

A 23 -year-old farmer was found with 314 grams of suspected marijuana in his house. According to a police release, the suspect took the ranks to his farm where a field with thirty cannabis plants measuring between five feet, five inches to seven feet in height, was found.

Also, a 59 -year-old farmer of the same area was arrested at his camp with three unlicensed shotguns. A search on his farm also revealed 41 cannabis plants measuring between one foot, two inches to five feet, three inches in height.

The plants were photographed and destroyed by fire. Both suspects are in custody pending charges.
