The Guyana Police Force (GPF) is investigating an alleged Robbery Under Arms committed on Hemchandra Hoolas,  a 40-year-old taxi driver of  Bee Hive Public Road, East Coast Demerara. The incident occurred on September 17, about 21:00hrs at Hummingbird Street and Blue Moutain Road, Festival City.

Hoolas was reportedly relieved of his  Spacio motorcar, PNN 4606, and one Samsung Galaxy cellphone valued $45,000.

Enquiries revealed that the victim was asked to make a pick up at Pike and Sheriff Streets, Campbellive, to which he responded.  Upon arrival at the given location, he picked up three persons: two men and a woman who requested to be taken to Festival City.

However, while in Festival City, one of the perpetrators pulled out a handgun and ordered Hoolas to stop and exit the vehicle, which he did.  They afterwards drove off with his vehicle, making good their escape.

Acting upon information received, the Police  went to a location in Parfaite Harmonie where they recovered the motor vehicle and arrested one  of the suspects.  He remains in custody assisting with the investigation.
