Police are investigating a shooting incident which occured today about 11:30hrs at ‘B’ Field Sophia where Julian Cox, 34 yrs, a bartender of lot 882 ‘B’ Field Sophia, Greater Georgetown was shot to the upper left thigh.
The shooter has been identified as a 26-year-old male of ‘A’ Field Sophia.
Enquiries disclosed that on the date and time mentioned, the victim was in a yard on ‘B’ Field Sophia Access Road gambling when he and the suspect, who was also gambling, had a misunderstanding over money.
As a result, the suspect pulled out a hand gun from his waist and discharged a round which struck the victim.
Cox was subsquently picked up and taken to a city hospital by public sprited ciziten, where he was admitted a patient in the male surgical ward. His condition is listed as stable.
The suspect is on the run.
