A Goed Fortuin, West Bank Demerara (WBD) man was found dead on Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as 49-year-old Gopaul Bissoon also known as “Dona” of Barclay Street, Goed Fortuin (WBD).
Guyana Standard understands that at about 13:20 hrs, an unknown caller contacted 911 and informed them of a lifeless body.
A team of Police officers was dispatched to the scene, and upon arrival, they noticed Bissoon motionless on his back. A rank checked the body, but no mark of violence was noticed.
Police said that Bissoon lived with his brother and was known to be someone who would drink excessively and also suffered from epilepsy.
The dead man was last seen at about 13:00hrs on the day in question by his brother walking at the side of his yard.
Bissoon’s body was taken to the West Demerara Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead by a doctor on duty. The body is at the Ezekiel Funeral Home, awaiting a Post Mortem Examination (PME). Investigations are ongoing.
