Ranks of the New Amsterdam Prison conducted a search at the north western dormitory yesterday around 19:30hrs, where they found a large quantity of marijuana and contraband.
During the search, a salt bag was found abandoned at the north western side of the compound containing the following items:
1)Two cartoons of cigarettes
2)Small amount of fronto leaves
3) six packs of bamboo
4) 17 bulky parcels containing a quantity of leaves, seeds and stems
The matter was reported to the Central Police Station, where the cannabis was handed over. Same was weighed and amounted to 1,730 grams.
Investigations are ongoing.
