A 61-year-old Charlotte Street, Bourda resident, was busted with a .38 revolver and five matching rounds in the vicinity of the Demerara Harbour Bridge, West Bank Demerara (WBD), on Thursday.
At the time of the discovery, the suspect was driving a motor car when a party of Policemen drawn from CID Headquarters, and led by an officer, observed the driver acting suspiciously.
He was stopped, and a search was conducted on his person, and the vehicle and the gun and ammunition were unearthed.
Following the discovery, he was arrested and taken into custody and is presently assisting with the investigation.
