Michael Solomon of Lot 168 Agricola, East Bank Demerara, was this morning charged in relation to a trafficking of cannabis charge.
He appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts before Principal Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus.
He is the fourth person being charged in relation to a bust which some 3.156 kilograms of canabis was found in the possession of persons.
He was represented by attorney Paul Fung-A-Fat when he disclosed to the court that he gave Ivor Anderson the bag containing the cannabis and is willing to plead guilty.
The CANU Prosecutor sent ranks to escort Solomon for questioning in relation to the charge and the matter was adjourned until April 19. He is on remand.
Two weeks ago, Troy Jacobs of Lot 726 Penny Lane, South Ruimveldt Gardens; Perez Cush of Newton, Kitty, Georgetown; and Iver Anderson, of Potaro Siparuni, Region 8; answered to separate, possession of narcotics charges.
The charge states that on February 12, 2021, at Regent and Homestretch and Mandela Streets, Georgetown, they had in their possession, 3.156 kilograms of cannabis.
The trio denied the allegation and according to the three men’s attorney, Adrian Thompson, Jacob was simply the driver of the car which was intercepted by police on the day in question. While the others charged did not know the contents of the bag.
Thompson said that Anderson has said that he was given the bag but because he is legally blind he doesn’t know what was in the bag.
The three men were placed on $500,000 bail.
