A 16-year-old boy was today charged with “murder in the course or  furtherance of a felony (robbery),” committed on Anthony Cort, a 10-year-old student of ‘C’ Field Sophia, Georgetown.

He was charged under Section 100 (1) (C) (i) of the Criminal Law (Offences) Act, Chapter 8:01.

The juvenile appeared at the Sparendaam Magistrates’ Court, where he was not required to plead, and was remanded to the Sophia Juvenile Holding Centre.

The matter will be called again on May 12, 2021.

Cort was fatally shot in the upper flat of a Sophia business place when bandits invaded the establishment.
