Devon Rodney, 45, today confessed to stealing almost $5M worth of items from several City business establishments .

Rodney who was convicted and served time for multiple simple larceny charges in the past, appeared before Principal Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts when he pleaded guilty to the five simple larceny charges.

He told the Magistrate that he stole a quantity of jewellery, clothes, cash and other items from Vidya’s Enterprise, an IBet Supreme branch and Britton, Hamilton and Adams law firm. It is alleged that he broke into the establishments between March 18 and April 14 and stole the quantity of articles amounting to almost $5M.

The Prosecutor did not object to bail, however, the court was told that Rodney was caught on camera removing the items and that some of the articles listed were recovered.

Following his guilty pleas, the Magistrate ordered that a probation report be submitted to the court before a sentence is handed down.
The matter will be called again on May 10.
