Police are investigating a hit and run which occurred this morning around 04:47 hrs at Duncan Street, involving a white Toyota Axio, known Registration number, and an unidentified male pedestrian of East Indian descent.

Enquiries disclosed that the pedestrian was standing on the center portion of Duncan Street, when he was struck down by the motorcar heading east.

As a result of the collision, the pedestrian was flung into the air before landing on the road surface, while the driver fled the scene.

The pedestrian was later picked up in a semi-conscious state by Emergency Medical Technicians(EMT) and transported to the Georgetown Public Hospital Accident and Emergency Unit where he was seen and examined by a doctor on duty.

He was treated for injuries to his head, chest and genital area and remains a patient in the Critical Bay #3 as investigation continues.
