A 17-year-old is in custody after he was found with 1.32 grammes of cocaine at Parika, East Bank Essequibo last evening.

Police in the region were performing foot patrol duties at the Parika Public Road, when they observed the teen “standing idly” alongside the gas station.

As a result, he was approached and a search on his person was conducted. During the search, a quantity of rock-like whitish substance was found in his right hand.

He was arrested and cautioned and he replied “Officer is Sasha give me it fuh hold”.

On arrival at Parika Police Station, the cocaine was weighed in his presence and full view of his father and it amounted to 1.32 grams.

Investigations are ongoing.
