A second suspect was today charged with the murder of Anthony Cort, the 10-year-old who was fatally shot during a robbery in Sophia more than two months ago.

Twenty-nine-year-old Kenrick Cozier called “Bullaboy”, of Sophia, was hauled before Magistrate Roschelle Liverpool at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Courts, charged with the murder of the child.

It is alleged that on March 11, at ‘C’ Field Sophia, he murdered Anthony Cort in the course or furtherance of an armed robbery.

He was remanded and the matter adjourned until July 9.

Cozier is the second person charged with the murder. A 16-year-old boy was charged in March with “murder in the course or furtherance of a felony (robbery),” committed on the child who was shot and killed at his home. The teen was remanded to the Sophia Juvenile Holding Centre.

Cozier was arrested on Friday, last, and according to reports, the man has admitted to his involvement in the murder.

Cort was fatally shot in the upper flat of a Sophia business place when bandits invaded the establishment.
