Four more persons who tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) have died. the Health Ministry has reported. This takes the total number of deaths from the pandemic to 473. The patients were admitted with COVID-19 like symptoms but died while receiving care at medical institutions. Samples were taken at the time of admission which subsequently returned
positive tests, the Ministry noted.

 

Meanwhile, some 87 new cases have been recorded, taking the number of confirmed infections since March 2020 to 20,142.

There are 14 persons in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 100 in institutional isolation, 1,460 in home isolation, and three in institutional quarantine. Some 189,878 tests have been conducted to date.

The regional breakdown of confirmed cases is as follows:

With regards to vaccination, Health Minister Dr Frank Anthony reported today that 233,756 persons have received the first dose, with 110,710 or 22.7% of the adult population being fully immunised.
